Sydney: Slang Verbs That Have Nothing To Do With Their Regular Meaning

Sydney: This is Must-Know Bulgarian Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 21. In this lesson, you'll learn slang verbs that have nothing to do with their regular meaning.
Sydney: Be on the alert when you hear these verbs. They may have a totally different meaning in everyday conversations.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Sydney: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Petar: очиствам (ochistvam)
Petar: натопявам (natopyavam)
Petar: свивам (svivam)
Petar: чупя се (chupya se)
Sydney: Petar, what's our first expression?
Petar: очиствам (ochistvam)
Sydney: literally meaning "to clean up." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to kill."

Sydney: literally meaning "to soak." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to put the blame on someone, to betray."

Sydney: Use this slang expression when you mean that someone is betrayed and will bear the blame for something they are not involved in.

Sydney: literally meaning "to fold." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to nick."

Sydney: literally meaning "to break oneself." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to escape, to run away."

Sydney: Use this slang expression when you want to say that you do not show up, or altogether avoid a situation.
