Sydney: A Few Two-Part Idioms
Sydney: Hi everyone, and welcome back to BulgarianPod101.com. I'm Sydney.

Sydney: This is Must-Know Bulgarian Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 13. In this lesson, you'll learn a few two-part idioms.
Sydney: Here are some idioms that might sound strange as they do not contain a verb.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Sydney: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Petar: след дъжд - качулка (sled dazhd - kachulka)
Petar: на всяка манджа - мерудия (na vsyaka mandzha - merudiya)
Petar: под вол - теле (pod vol - tele)
Petar: след нас - потоп (sled nas - potop)
Sydney: Petar, what's our first expression?
Petar: след дъжд - качулка (sled dazhd - kachulka)
Sydney: literally meaning "after the rain - a hood." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "too late, when it is pointless."
Petar: [SLOW] след дъжд - качулка [NORMAL] след дъжд - качулка

Sydney: Use this slang expression when you want to point out that it is too late, or not necessary any more, to offer help.

Sydney: literally meaning "to every dish - parsley." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "nosy, to have a finger in every pie."

Sydney: Use this slang expression when you mean that someone is very nosy and offers their opinion any time, without being asked.

Sydney: literally meaning "under the bull - a calf." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "something non-existent, impossible."

Sydney: Use this slang expression when you mean that someone is looking for anything non-existent, or is deliberately looking for even tiny faults.

Sydney: Use this slang expression when you mean that someone is not thinking about, or considering, the consequences of their actions or inactions.

Sydney: "And now what, you have no care about what you are leaving behind."
